WORK WITH DR. ELIZABETH

Group Therapy
Living with food allergies, whether your own or your child's, is not just a medical experience. It is an emotional one. The hypervigilance, the isolation, the fear that never fully goes away, the grief of what's been lost, the trauma that can follow a severe reaction, the decisions that never feel small enough to stop thinking about.

These are small, clinical therapy groups, not a psychoeducational support space, for those who want to engage in therapeutic work alongside others navigating similar challenges. Each group addresses the psychological themes that come up most consistently in food allergy life: managing anxiety without losing appropriate caution, navigating hypervigilance and trauma, processing grief and loss, making decisions about treatment options, communicating with partners, schools, and medical providers, and handling the transitions that come at every new stage.

Groups with a start date below are currently enrolling. Others are offered based on interest, join the list to be notified when a new group is forming.

Parents: Young Children (Under 6)

Starting September 9, 2026

For parents in the early years: managing high vigilance, navigating a world that doesn't always cooperate, and finding your footing in a role nobody prepared you for.

Parents: School Age (Ages 6–12)

Starting September 23, 2026

For parents whose children are moving into a more independent world of school, friendships, activities, and new steps away from your direct supervision.

Middle Schoolers (Grades 6-8)

Offered based on interest, join the list to be notified

For middle schoolers managing food allergies through one of the socially messiest stages of growing up: new schools, new friendships, and the beginning of navigating it more on their own.

Teens (Grades 9-12)

Offered based on interest, join the list to be notified

For teenagers managing their own allergies: the identity questions, the social complexity, and the transition toward owning something that has always felt high-stakes.

Graduating Seniors & College Students

For young adults stepping into independence with food allergies: college dining halls, new social situations, and the transition to managing your own safety without the safety net of home.

Offered based on interest, join the list to be notified

For adults with their own food allergies facing pregnancy or new parenthood: the fear of passing allergies to your child, the questions nobody fully answers, and the emotional weight of a new kind of vigilance.
